About the role 

Councils City Futures Department is looking for a Job Advocate who will contribute to the Victorian Government’s enhanced Jobs Victoria employment support program. Which is funded through, Jobs Victoria you will play an important face-to-face navigation role.

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Help people navigate employment, training and community services by proactively connecting with people face to face where they are, in their local communities and streamline their service experience.
  • Connect with job seekers who may need assistance to prepare for or secure suitable and sustainable employment and/or ensure they are aware of the supports available.
  • Identify service delivery gaps for job seekers and proactively seek ways to improve service delivery.

This is a temporary full time position ending on 30 June 2023

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Community Engagement and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable residents with complex needs in the community.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the employment, education and/or community services

This position is a Band 6, and effective 1 July 2022 is currently remunerated between $93,402.79 to $102,605.90 per annum, plus superannuation.
