About the position

Council’s Community Strengthening Department is looking for a Reconciliation Project Manager.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • To maintain engagement with community and stakeholders Health Service Capacity Building.
  • Provide cultural support and advice in development and implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan to ensure alignment with community expectations and needs. 
  • Establish a representative Reconciliation Reference Group to oversee the development and implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan; and
  • Provide cross- Council mentoring and advice to build staff capacity to embed cultural inclusion and deliver culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.


This is a part time role working 30 hours per week.  Working days are flexible. 

About you

Frankston City council considers that being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine requirement of this role and as such, this position is designated for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people under s.12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred in community development or related field, however, highly experienced candidates without this qualification will be considered.
  • Possess the ability to deal with a range of stakeholders and are committed to achieving quality outcomes; and
  • Will have an understanding of Aboriginal Health organisations and the issues, current trends and a range of possible strategies associated with delivery of high quality public sector services.

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated at $95,504.35 per annum (pro-rata), plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
