About the position

Council's Technology & Innovation Department is looking for a Business Analyst who is passionate about using technology to solve problems, improve services and create better outcomes for Council, customers and the community.

Working across a broad range of business and technology initiatives, you'll help identify opportunities, challenge conventional thinking and explore how technology can be used in new and innovative ways. Whether it's unlocking more value from existing platforms, evaluating emerging capabilities or supporting new ideas from concept through to implementation, you'll play a key role in helping Council understand what's possible and turn opportunities into outcomes.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders to identify challenges, opportunities and areas for service improvement;
  • Exploring, assessing and validating technology opportunities that can deliver value for Council, customers and staff;
  • Delivering business analysis, discovery and requirements activities to support technology-enabled initiatives and decision-making; and
  • Supporting pilot programs, innovation initiatives and technology adoption activities across the organisation.

About you

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Experience in business analysis, digital transformation, technology initiatives, innovation programs or service improvement activities;
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, define problems and translate ideas into practical outcomes;
  • Comfortable exploring new ideas, challenging assumptions and thinking differently about how problems can be solved;
  • Strong communicator who can engage, influence and build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Strong business analysis, stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering capabilities; and
  • Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Business Analysis, Innovation, Digital Transformation or a related discipline (desirable).

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated at $100,338.66 per annum, plus superannuation.
