About the position

Council’s Operations Department is looking for an Operations Inspector to join our Civil maintenance and operations RMP inspections team

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Undertaking of routine Road Defect Inspections (RDIs) in accordance with Council’s Road Management Plan (RMP), including nighttime inspections as required.
  • This role will also be required to work as part of a work team and oversee reactive maintenance programs to ensure that the requirements of the Road Management Plan are met. 
  • Assist in the provision of asset identification and hazards and defect information for the purpose of meeting Road Management Plan (RMP) inspection frequencies, including provision of accurate asset data collection.
  • Carry out data collection of physical assets by manual and electronic methods including the use of GPS technology.
  • Liaise with other relevant Council Departments to plan for sustainable maintenance or improvements works at specific sites.
  • Supervise works effectively so that it meets the service, quality standards requirements and meet the stipulated time frames.

This is a is a permanent full-time position.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude with experience and knowledge in the Civil maintenance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of experience Concrete and Road maintenance.
  • A sound mechanical and operational knowledge of plant and equipment deploying the most appropriate use of such plant and equipment having regard to the nature of the maintenance / improvement requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of road maintenance principles and practices.
  • Ability to work in a quality assurance and continuous improvement environment.
  • Ability to work in an environment of rapid and constant change.

This position is a Band 4A currently remunerated at $74,563.73 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
