About the position
Council’s Development Services Department is looking for a Statutory Planner who will be responsible for providing a high-quality service in the performance of Council’s statutory planning duties.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Assess, provide recommendations and prepare reports on a variety of planning applications and requests for related planning matters, for both private land and Council owned land within specified timeframes.
- To provide professional, timely and accurate advice with respect to the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Frankston Planning Scheme.
- Respond to telephone, counter and written enquiries in a timely manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in Statutory Planning processes to improve the performance of the Statutory Planning Unit.
- With support, represent Council at Victorian Civil and Administration Tribunal (VCAT) hearings as appropriate, including preparing submissions, presenting to the tribunal, discussing with relevant parties and briefing consultants and legal representatives.
This is a full time permanent position.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or related discipline.
- Recent and relevant planning experience
- Ability to deliver a high standard of customer service.
- Ability to work productively and cooperatively within a team environment.
- Relevant technology skills to enable the delivery of work requirements.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence.

This position is a Band 5 currently remunerated at $80,750.44 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
