About the position

Council’s Family Health Support Services Department is looking for a Team Leader Maternal and Child Health who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day provision of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) service.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Coordinate the day-to-day provision of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) service to families with children 0-6 years of age within Frankston City Council
  • Provide clinical MCH nursing leadership, coaching and support to MCH staff to ensure the consistent achievement of professional practice standards, performance indicators, compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements and Council’s governance obligations
  • Ensure the provision of high quality, customer-focussed, flexible and responsive MCH service delivery which complies with state-wide Maternal and Child Health service, program and practice guidelines and standards
  • Participate in MCH strategic and service planning, including assisting in the development, implementation and review of relevant projects and strategic frameworks

 

About you

  • Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as both Registered Nurse (Division 1) and Registered Midwife, and hold an accredited postgraduate degree/diploma (or equivalent) in maternal and child health nursing
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in Maternal and Child Health or related service area, including extensive knowledge and experience in working with children and families experiencing vulnerability
  • Experience leading and supervising a large team of professionals, including staff performance and behaviour, and change management
  • Demonstrated developed ability to lead, develop, support and motivate staff with an emphasis on team building and a positive workplace culture
  • Demonstrated well developed ability to set priorities, plan and organise workloads, meet deadlines and monitor performance to achieve performance objectives, despite conflicting pressures

This position is a Team Leader MCH Nurse Year 4 currently remunerated at $129,307.18 per annum, plus relevant allowances and superannuation.
