About the position
Council’s Financial and Integrated Department is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer who will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and weekly payment runs.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Process high volumes of invoices, credit notes, and staff reimbursements accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Council policies
- Prepare and process weekly and ad-hoc payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders in a professional and customer-focused manner
- Assist with month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting
This is a temporary part time role working 30.80 hours per week, ending July 2026. Working days are flexible.
About you
- Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role, ideally within local government or a public sector environment.
- High level of attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Experience in TechnologyOne software or similar ERP systems, with an understanding of invoice workflow automation.

This position is a Band 4A currently remunerated at $74,536 (pro-rata) per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
