About the position

Council’s Financial and Integrated Planning Department is looking for a Finance Business Partner who will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the organisation’s financial performance to management. In this role you will liaise with Managers and Coordinators to provide guidance on financial issues pertaining to their Department’s function with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, best practice and customer focus.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing professional and technical advice to Department Managers and Coordinators on day to day financial management and reporting;
  • Assisting with the preparation of Council’s statutory reporting requirements, with a particular emphasis on budgeting and forecasting; and
  • Developing strong and positive relationships with both internal and external customers while contributing to the development of high quality customer service across the organisation.

This is a temporary part-time (0.5) position ending on 23 October 2026.

About you

  • A degree in Accounting or related discipline or several years relevant experience in an accounting position;
  • Demonstrated experience with budgetary and costing procedures in a similar sized organisation;
  • Some experience in management reporting and ability to analyse financial accounts and information;
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to identify priorities and self-manage workloads; and
  • Eligibility for membership of CPA Australia or equivalent

This position is a Band 6A currently remunerated at $100,338.66 (pro-rata) per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
