About the position
Council’s Governance, Procurement and Risk Department is looking for a Coordinator Information Management & Privacy who will be responsible for position objective.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Lead Council’s information management, Freedom of Information (FOI) and privacy functions, ensuring legislative compliance and timely service delivery;
- Develop and continuously improve information governance frameworks, policies, systems and records management practices;
- Oversee complex FOI applications, privacy complaints, data breaches, investigations and regulatory matters;
- Provide trusted specialist advice and training to leaders, Councillors and staff on information governance, privacy and compliance; and
- Lead and develop a high-performing specialist team focused on service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
About you
As the successful candidate you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in law, information management, public administration or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience;
- Extensive experience in freedom of information, privacy and/or information management within a legislative or regulatory environment;
- Strong knowledge of FOI, privacy, data protection and public records legislation, standards and compliance requirements;
- Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly and influence organisational practice; and
- Strong analytical judgement and experience managing complex requests, complaints, investigations, systems or regulatory matters.

This position is a Band 8A currently remunerated at $129,722.61 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
