About the role 

The Council’s Arts & Culture Department is looking for casual library officers who will be responsible for proactively promoting, supporting and delivery of the library’s range of programs and services.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Handling and resolving general enquiries from customers in a responsive and cooperative manner, follow up and respond as required;
  • Facilitating access to the collection through membership, promotion, circulation and shelving of library materials;
  • Assist customers with the use of computers and other Library technologies; and
  • Ensuring that the library is professionally presented, information displayed is current and collection is maintained to agreed standards

This is a casual position and could be rostered to work at any library location, including evenings and weekends.  

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service;
  • Flexible and enthusiastic attitude with the resilience to continue to create positive customer experiences during a range of unique circumstances;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to contribute to a harmonious and positive work environment;
  • Highly developed skills in the use of current technologies and a passion about assisting the community to explore and use them;
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously as part of a team to deliver outstanding customer services; and
  • Ability to work at short notice in a busy team in a customer facing environment.

This position is a Band 4A currently remunerated $46.11 per hour plus superannuation.
