About the position

Council’s Arts & Culture Department is looking for a Library Officer who will enthusiastically engage with the community in the library to deliver and promote library services which maximise community enjoyment and use of Frankston City Libraries. 

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Handling and resolving general enquiries from customers in a responsive and cooperative manner, following up and responding as required;
  • Facilitating access to the collection through membership, promotion, circulation and shelving of library materials;
  • Assisting customers with the use of computers and other Library technologies; and
  • Ensuring that the library is professionally presented, information displayed is current and collection is maintained to agreed standards.

This is a permanent part time position working 29 hours per fortnight (0.4 FTE).  The shifts will be:

Week 1

  • Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm at Frankston
  • Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm at Frankston

Week 2

  • Saturday 9:45am - 1:00pm at Carrum Downs
  • Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm at Frankston
  • Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm at Frankston

This position is a Band 4A currently remunerated at $72,896.56 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
