About the position

Council’s Procurement Property and Risk Department is looking for a Contracts and Procurement Advisor who will be responsible for facilitating procurement activities, providing procurement guidance and expertise to internal stakeholders. 

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide advice, assistance, support to and facilitate all aspects of the tendering and procurement processes of departments to ensure compliance with Council’s Procurement Policy and Strategy and probity, fairness and integrity in all procurement procedures
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with all procurement activities and partner with, assist and support other departments in the implementation of all aspects of Council’s Procurement Policy and Strategy to ensure compliance and Best Value for money
  • Participating in the monitoring and review of procurement and tendering arrangements, recommending and implementing improvements to improve competition, and conducting training, as appropriate

This is a temporary full-time position ending on 30 September 2026 with a possibility of an extension.

About you

  • Well-developed documentation preparation skills and experience in using standard form contracts
  • Analytical skills and experience in tender evaluation, selection and contract
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders. 
  • Adaptable with good problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Finance Systems, Contract Systems and e-tendering systems

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated at $ $98,130.72 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
