About the position

Council's Family Health Support Services Department is looking for a casual Home Maintenance Officer who will be responsible for making repairs and home modifications to help residents live safe and independently at home.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • To undertake home maintenance tasks in a timely and well-organised manner;
  • Provide excellent customer service and complete your work to a high standard; and
  • To maintain work in accordance with current procedures, including job sheets for completed work and written estimates.

 

This is a casual role with no affixed regular hours. This casual position will undertake shifts to backfill staff leave, as well as shifts to cover times of peak workload.  Shifts may be rostered from 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. 

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Experience in property maintenance or working in the building industry or allied trade qualification, including carpentry;
  • Ability to relate well with other people and to deliver a high standard of customer service; and
  • Ability to respond sensitively to the needs of frail, aged or disabled people and those in crisis situations.

This position is a Band 3 currently remunerated at $43.08 per hour, plus superannuation.
