About the position

Council’s Youth Services Department is looking for a Senior Youth Worker who will be responsible for the FReeZA portfolio within the Youth team. This role holds responsibility for the delivery of the FReeZA program and facilitation of the Fresh Committee. FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that empowers young people to plan and deliver music, arts, and culture events in the local community.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Successfully work in conjunction with a volunteer committee of young people to deliver the FReeZA program
  • Strengthen opportunities for young people to engage and better participate in a range of community, cultural, social and learning opportunities
  • Development of event submissions and risk management plans; acquittal and evaluation reports; and grant applications.

 

About you

  • You have demonstrated experience working with young people, particularly youth-led groups, within a community development framework.
  • You have a proven ability to deliver youth-led events that effectively address the needs of young people in the local community.
  • You have a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or related discipline.

This position is a Band 5 currently remunerated at $80,750.44 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
