About the position

Council’s Community Relations team is looking for a full-time Communications and Media Officer responsible for developing and delivering engaging, timely and impactful communications across digital and traditional channels for Frankston City Council.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • developing corporate content, including media releases, statutory publication content and social media content
  • managing media enquiries, strategic media outreach and maintain media relationships
  • providing communications support for projects and services, as well as engagement and advocacy programs
  • supporting the Councillor team with speechwriting

About you

The right person for the role will have:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Proven organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines while working in a dynamic environment Experience in delivering impactful communications plans and strategies
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments
  • Experience in managing media issues and opportunities
  • Experience in working in a local or state government organisation.

This position is renumerated at a Band 6A $100,338.66 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will be paid as required.
