About the position

Council’s Operations Department are seeking a dedicated individual to join the team as a skilled Turf Wicket and Sportsground Curator.

This position is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and presentation of high-quality cricket wickets and outfields to a professional standard. The role also contributes to the maintenance of sports grounds and Centenary Park golf course through the application of horticultural and turf management skills, including the operation of specialist turf maintenance equipment.

The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Supporting the preparation, maintenance, and presentation of cricket wickets and outfields to a professional standard with care and precision.

About you

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, but who can also take the initiative to work autonomously as needed from time to time. Additionally, you will bring to the role;

  • Strong background in turf wicket preparation and maintenance.
  • Ability to use a variety of horticulture and turf management tools, plant and mechanical equipment
  • Strong safe work practices
  • A current Victorian Driver Licence

Experience in the application of fertiliser, herbicide, fungicide and insecticide in addition to a Medium Rigid Truck Licence (manual transmission) and Front-End Loader / Tractor Licence will be well regarded.

This position is a Band 3A currently remunerated at $69,665.28 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
