About the role:

Council is seeking an experienced Senior Producer, Festivals and Major Events who will be responsible for the planning and successful delivery of Council-run festivals and major events in addition to supporting a range of events that position Frankston as an arts, culture, and event destination. 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery requirements of Council run festivals and major events, with a strong focus on project management and operational excellence. 
  • Contribute to the delivery of actions contained in the Destination Events Strategy and proactively shape the success of major events in Frankston, or any other Council strategies that relate to events. 
  • End-to-end management of external event applications, managing the relationship with organisers to provide advice and guidance.  
  • Implementing new processes and systems, with a focus on continuous improvement and finding efficiencies. 
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management across internal and external teams, contractors, suppliers, and contracted staff.
  • Managing events in line with emergency management, safety, and risk management principles.
  • Apply a creative, future focused mindset to generate innovative ideas and concepts that actively contribute to the transformation and revitalisation of Frankston. 

This role includes out of hours work, including weekends in the delivery of Council-run events which will paid as time in lieu.

About you:

  • Degree or Diploma qualification in Event Management or a related field, with relevant major event experience, including large-scale outdoor events. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the events industry including regulations and requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency management, safety, and risk management principles.
  • Proven experience with accountability of event budgets, including negotiation, cost control, and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated planning discipline, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask at a high level, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in various Microsoft Office programs, and financial systems.
  • You thrive in a creative space, enjoy problem solving and decision making, demonstrate initiative, and have exceptional time management skills.
  • You enjoy a fast-paced environment and contributing to all facets of event planning and delivery including the demands required on event days.
  • Hold a current driver’s license.

This position is a Band 6A currently remunerated at $100,338.66 per annum, plus superannuation. Time in lieu will also be paid, as required for event days.
